Manchester United name asking price for Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw v Swansea

According to reports in England today, Premier League giants Manchester United have informed interested parties of the fee that will be required to coax Luke Shaw away from the club.

Disappointment

22-year-old Shaw arrived at United from Southampton for a hefty £30 million fee in 2014, with many viewing the talented youngster as the natural heir to Patrice Evra at the club.
However, Louis Van Gaal, who was in charge of the Red Devils at that point, claimed that Shaw was overweight on the club’s pre-season tour, before a number of injuries allowed the youngster to make just 16 Premier League appearances during his debut campaign in Manchester.
And things have gone from bad to worse for Shaw at the club since, with many claiming that the English international has never fully recovered from a horrendous double leg break suffered in a clash with PSV Eindhoven at the beginning of the 2015-16 campaign.

Not seeing eye to eye

Since Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford last summer, Shaw has struggled to carve out any sort of regular playing time for himself, with Mourinho having publicly scolded the talented youngster for his attitude last season.
Shaw has gone on to make just 2 appearances for the Red Devils so far this season, both substitute cameos in the Carabao Cup.

Suitors

All of Tottenham, Southampton and Fenerbahce have been linked with moves for Shaw, with Spurs viewed as the most likely destination for the 7-time capped international due to the presence of Mauricio Pochettino.
It had previously been unclear how much Manchester United were seeking in return for the Saints youth product, but, as per a number of outlets in England this afternoon, the Red Devils are said to value their stopper at £20 million.
The possibility also remains that Shaw could be sent out on loan in January, in a bid to recover full fitness and increase his value on the transfer market.
